Race Info
The proceeds from our event benefit the R. Keith and Deborah C. Summey Youth Endowment for the Arts (YEA), a local non-profit that supports fine arts programming in Charleston County Schools. Performance groups from the area and our schools will dot the length of the course along with water and first-aid stations. The marathon and half-marathon courses begin in downtown Charleston near 75 Calhoun Street, heading South on East Bay, passing Rainbow Row, nearing White Point Gardens we head West then North on King Street. The finish for the marathon and half-marathon & start for the Shrimp and Grits 5k will be at the historic Navy Yard at Noisette.
T-Shirt Design
The Charleston Marathon is thrilled to announce that local Charleston artist Tate Nation's limited edition print "These Old Houses" will be featured on the 2012 Charleston Marathon shirts.
Shirts are provided to all registered runners and are available in our RaceIt shop.
Expo & Finish Line
Friday night, January 13, we'll be having a vendor Expo, where you can pick up your race packets and participate in the pre-race dinner. For times, please see the Schedule of Events.
Race day we'll have carbs (for those finishing the race), entertainment and Shrimp and Grits. Adult beverages will also be available.
